PhD in Public Policy Program

I am a third-year PhD student in the Department of Public Policy. I have a very supportive advisor (supervisor). The regular meetings with her and her training are helping me and are the most significant support in my PhD journey. Moreover, the core courses, mainly "Foundations in Public Policy" and "Research Methods in Public Policy" which is part of the PQE, is well-tailored to facilitate our research. The training that we obtain from the eminent faculty who handle these courses helps us with our study. The faculty in the department offer us help in whatever way they can to facilitate our research. The students are also given opportunity to assist the Professors in teaching the courses as “Teaching Assistants”, enabling them to master the courses and work on their teaching skills.

The department also encourages students to consider courses from other departments, such as Engineering, Social Science and Mathematics, and interact with those faculty which helps them to progress in their research.

The university has excellent facilities to do research and is not limited in access to the full range of research materials and various software.

The department staffs are very supportive and are always willing to help. The university has facilities such as wellness and counselling center that works along with the department giving very high importance to the mental and physical well-being of the students.
